Świdnica Miasto PKP station is one of the Lower Silesian stations whose history begins back in the nineteenth century. It lies on the popular Katowice–Legnica railway line. Jelenia Góra – from Świdnica PKP station, one express train departs during the day, IC Sudety. The journey on this route takes 1h 36min and costs PLN 34 for a ticket without reductions in 2nd class. Along the way it stops at stations such as: Jaworzyna Śląska, Świebodzice, Wałbrzych Miasto, Wałbrzych Główny and Sędzisław. IC Sudety runs daily at fixed times. It leaves Świdnica Miasto PKP station at 20:23.
Kraków Główny – to the capital of Lesser Poland we can also travel by IC Sudety train. The Świdnica–Kraków train takes 5h 27min and is the only direct connection during the day between these two cities. It departs from the station at 06:21 and arrives at 11:48. For a 2nd class ticket we will pay PLN 80. Larger cities such as Katowice, Zabrze, Gliwice, Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Nysa and Ząbkowice Śląskie also lie on this route.
PKP Świdnica Miasto station handles only one long-distance connection daily, which is the [IC Sudety](##BRAK## train operating on this route. It provides a comfortable journey to Świdnica every day from many city centres located on the train's route such as **Jelenia Góra, Wałbrzych, Ząbkowice Śląskie, Kędzierzyn-Koźle, Gliwice, Jaworzno Szczakowa and Krzeszowice. The route also includes two provincial capitals, Katowice and Kraków. Thanks to this line, Świdnica has a daily direct connection with major city centres in southern Poland. Świdnica is worth visiting for its remarkable historical architecture, and above all the Church of Peace, famous throughout the world and inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
